It’s so easy to be sedentary and get out of the habit of exercising. It seems that so many people fail to keep it a constant in their lives. Why is that?
A lot of the time we tend to do what every one else is doing. Everyone swears that a different form of exercise is the best. But the best exercise is one that you enjoy and can commit to. STOP doing what everyone else is doing. Make the effort to try new things and find out what works for you.
Regular exercise and movement provides so many benefits, these are just a few:
- Boosts happy hormones and endorphins
- Helps with sleep
- Lowers stress levels
- Helps you breathe better
- Builds new relationships
- Assists in digestion
The number on the scale is just a number. It means nothing. The changes inside your body will change your quality of life!
It’s better to commit to shorter exercise time for 3-4 days a week than it is to go all on 45min-1hour 5 days a week.
Many people decide to start with a goal of 45 minutes to 1 hour of exercise every day, but can’t sustain that commitment for long. If this has been a problem for you, set yourself up for success by starting small. Commit to 20-30 minutes of movement for 3-4 days a week at first. Once you’ve established the habit, you can grow from there.
Find exercises you LOVE. Change it up. Laugh at yourself. ALWAYS be kind to yourself.
